Dysbiosis, or Altered Bacterial Balance
Pathological changes in the composition of the gut microbiota—commonly referred to as dysbiosis or altered bacterial balance—can lead to the development of various diseases. An increasing number of conditions have been scientifically linked to disruptions in the microbiota matrix.
Preventing Dysbiosis
Dysbiosis can develop in anyone, even in otherwise healthy individuals. Currently, the most effective natural restorative method is Microbiota Transfer Therapy (MTT). If you are facing a health condition, treatment, or event that may cause dysbiosis, you can store your own, naturally compatible gut bacteria for future recovery.
Autologous Therapy – With AutoBiome Capsules
Autologous therapy involves the storage of your gut microbiota while still in a healthy state. In the case of autologous MTT (aMTT), the carefully selected microbiota sample—collected at the right time—can be reintroduced after an unexpected or anticipated health event, helping restore your previous healthy microbiota, like continuing life from a "saved state."
Our service developed for producing the necessary capsules for this therapy is called AutoBiome..
The concept of a “healthy microbiota" is extremely difficult to define. Our AutoBiome service may be beneficial for individuals who are not suffering from chronic illnesses or are facing a medical procedure likely to significantly impair their gut flora.
Unlike traditional microbiota sourced from donors—where the transformation and use of stool bacteria is permitted only under uncompromisingly healthy conditions—autologous microbiota storage allows for more nuanced consideration. In the case of the AutoBiome service, the key question is whether the future use of the microbiota encapsulated today may offer tangible benefits that justify the cost of the service.
The storage of one’s own microbiota—for potential future medical use—is recommended in the following cases, provided the individual does not suffer from chronic illness and is in microbiologically adequate health:
Unlike traditional donor-derived microbiota transfer therapy, the AutoBiome service offers the opportunity to preserve your own microbiota in advance—potentially playing a key role in supporting your health in the future.
The following steps are required to use our AutoBiome service, designed to ensure your microbiota provides comprehensive future protection and supports a faster recovery for you.
Before storing your microbiota, it is important to ensure that you do not have any chronic, infectious, or malignant disease. To rule these out, a basic laboratory and imaging diagnostic package must be completed, which your general practitioner will arrange for you based on the provided checklist.
To enable communication and the future delivery of the sampling kit, please register. Upon registration, you will receive an identifier in the format P0000000, which we will refer to in all future correspondence. During registration, select the "AutoBiome" option from the "Programs" menu.
RegistrationUsing the identifier, you can place your order for the AutoBiome capsule. After payment has been received, we will send you the sampling kit within 5 working days. The stool sample must be collected once using the instructions provided, and the sample must be delivered to the MicroBiome Bank laboratory within 6 hours. [1]
OrderFrom the stool sample, we extract the bacterial mass that constitutes the microbiome using our proprietary method. This material is then freeze-dried and encapsulated through a pharmaceutical-grade process. The resulting MTT capsules are packaged in boxes of 60 and shipped to your address via courier. The completed capsules do not require special refrigeration during transport. At home, they can be stored in a refrigerator for several months or in a freezer for decades.
[1] Currently, we can only process stool samples at our laboratory in Budapest. However, the completed capsules can be shipped to any country within the European Union. This means that while you will need to travel to Hungary to submit your sample, there is no need to stay and wait for the laboratory processing to be completed.
In order to process the most valuable microbiota possible with AutoBiome, particular attention should be paid to:
Microbiota Transfer Therapy (MTT) is currently the most effective method of treating dysbiosis that can restore natural function. The procedure is extremely safe and, due to the nature of autologous transfer (aMTT), does not present donor-recipient compatibility problems, provided that the professional rules and regulations for MTT are followed. In the case of aMTT, a microbiota deposited at a carefully selected time gives its owner a new chance.
In accordance with applicable regulations, the capsules are provided as a service under code 869015 — Medical Laboratory Services, as defined by SCPA 2008.
MicroBiome Bank cannot and will not verify the identity of the person you have provided for the AutoBiome service. By placing an order, the user of the service accepts that the laboratory will individually process the sample submitted under the given name and fill it in a verifiable manner into AutoBiome capsules running under the given name or code number. Any effects resulting from any intentional or negligent substitution of sample and/or starting material to be processed by the customer shall be the sole responsibility of the customer.
