Recurrent C. difficile infection? There is a modern solution.

Microbiota transfer therapy (MTT) is one of the most effective, non-invasive ways of treating recurrent Clostridioides difficile infection. You do not have to face it alone — we guide you from the first question to recovery.

What is happening in your body?

A Clostridioides (Clostridium) difficile is a toxin-producing bacterium. When the balance of the gut flora is disrupted — typically after a course of antibiotics — it can multiply and cause a stubborn, often recurrent diarrhoeal infection (CDI). If you have already been through this several times, we know how exhausting it is. Importantly, this is not your fault, and there is a way out of it.

Why does microbiota transfer help?

Microbiota transfer therapy delivers a community of gut bacteria from a carefully screened, healthy donor into your digestive system. These microorganisms restore the diversity of the gut flora and the natural “colonisation resistance” — that is, the protective net that suppresses the C. difficile overgrowth. In confirmed cases, the therapy can be started immediately on the basis of the symptoms.

At home or in hospital? We have a solution for both situations: DiffBiome for treatment at home, and HospBiome for more severe, hospital cases. We provide professional guidance in choosing the right path.
This is how the process works

Your path to recovery — step by step

We provide continuous support, so at every stage of the treatment you will know what the next step is. Getting from registration to a personalised protocol can take as little as 20 minutes.

Get in touch

Fill in the form found in the “Contact” menu. In reply, we will send you the most important information, and we will register you as an enquirer.

Registration

We will send you a link by e-mail with which you can register as a patient. At that point you will receive a unique identifier from us in P0000000 format, which we will always refer to during the further administration.

Goals and expectations

By filling in a short questionnaire, tell us about your symptoms, your previous treatments and your expectations of MTT as well as your previous experience with it.

Condition assessment (SIS)

On the basis of the Symptom Intensity Scale (SIS), we assess your current condition and recommend a personalised protocol. If one of our capsules can help, we will send you the order link.

Home delivery

We deliver the recommended capsules within 4 working days at the latest, by courier — conveniently, to your home.

Follow-up

If your symptoms have not eased after 15 days, we provide an online consultation with our exposome specialist so that we can further fine-tune the treatment for you.

The right treatment

Which capsule is for what?

The same high-quality donor microbiota, processed in a certified laboratory — in two formats, tailored to your situation.

A personalised, scientific protocol

No two cases are the same — which is why no two protocols are the same either. The success of the treatment depends on the bacterial concentration and the duration of the treatment, and we determine the appropriate dose on the basis of the Symptom Intensity Scale (SIS). This structured clinical scoring system takes 24 key variables into account — the symptoms you report, the laboratory results, the data of previous treatments and the known risk factors — and combines four validated medical models (Zar score, ATLAS, Hines VA severity score, CARDS). This way you receive evidence-based treatment tailored to your own condition.

The hyperbolic treatment curve

The more severe the condition (the higher the SIS score), the higher the initial bacterial concentration and the longer the course. As your condition improves, the dose gradually decreases to the maintenance level — the curve tends towards the SIS = 10 threshold.

Critical (80–100) Very severe (70–80) Severe (60–70) Moderately severe (40–60) Mild (20–40) Very mild (0–20)
Critical: HospBiome 5(L) — 5–30 capsules/day
Very severe: HospBiome 5(L) — 5 capsules/day
Severe: HospBiome 5(V) — 3–5 capsules/day
Severe → moderate: DiffBiome+ — 3–6 capsules/day
Moderate / mild: DiffBiome 30(V) — 3–6 capsules/day
Very mild: Maintenance dose — 2–3 capsules/day

Safety you can rely on

According to the current state of science, MTT is the most effective method, and the one that best restores natural function, in the treatment of recurrent Clostridioides difficile infection. When the rules of the profession and the regulations are observed, the procedure is safe: it reduces the likelihood of reinfection and, as a beneficial side effect, improves the diversity of the gut microbiota. The capsules should in every case be used under the guidance of your treating physician — we are on your side and your doctor's side throughout.

MicroBiome Bank does not sell products; it connects donors and recipients by providing professional medical services: it organises the recruitment of donors and their screening in a certified laboratory, the stool tests, and the processing of the screened donation into capsule form. The contents of the capsules remain the property of the donor until the recipient has paid in full. The brand names of the services serve to make them easier to remember. We deliver the capsules “to the doctor’s hand”, and they are to be used under the guidance of a treating physician. For detailed information, please contact us.
